Land Use and Zoning

We have assisted local governments in developing new zoning ordinances, such as incentive zoning and environmental protection overlay districts. We have also represented municipalities in their responses to the proposed location of unwanted or dangerous facilities within their communities.

Energy and Telecommunications

The deregulation of gas, electric, and telecommunications utilities creates new opportunities and risks for municipalities. We have assisted local governments in negotiating favorable supply contracts and franchise renegotiations.

Municipal Finance

Local municipalities have numerous options for financing projects through the issuance of municipal debt. Private companies and developers look to such debt to fund projects through industrial development agencies or similar public benefit corporations. We have represented municipalities and private parties served as bond counsel, and advise several public authorities on a daily basis.
